Workshop Overview

Welcome to an intimate autumn gathering where seasonal floral artistry meets Korean culinary craft. Hosted at Buurtbloem in Oud Zuilen, against the backdrop of historic Slot Zuylen castle, this Halloween special invites you into the garden for an immersive celebration of the autumn harvest.

This unique seasonal workshop designed for a small group seeking an exclusive, hands on experience. You will connect directly with the garden, harvest your own organic elements from the garden, craft a sculptural floral centerpiece and seasonal ornament, and finish by sharing delicious Korean pumpkin snacks around the table.

This workshop is led by South Korea born professional florist Soyoun Bang, founder of SUUM and a certified Dutch Floral Arrangement (DFA) instructor, alongside Chef Kwon of KHOM.

FAQs

Do I need prior experience with flower arrangement?

Not at all. The workshop is designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to floral enthusiasts. Soyoun will guide you step by step through every technique, offering personal guidance as you create your piece.

What will I take home after the event?

You will take home your finished floral centerpiece, along with the vase and the reusable floral pin frog (chimbong) so you can continue creating botanical arrangements at home.

Where will the event take place?

The gathering takes place across two charming settings in close proximity. The floral workshop is held outdoors at the Buurtbloem flower garden, where you will harvest fresh seasonal blooms directly from the field and craft your floral arrangement on site. Afterward, we take an easy three minute walk to the private home of Chef Kwon, where our intimate indoor Korean botanical lunch will be served.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Depending on the forecast, the workshop setup may adjust. In case of light rain, we set up a garden tent so you can comfortably harvest blooms and craft your arrangement while staying completely dry. If severe weather forces us to cancel the event, your ticket will be fully refunded or transferred to a future date of your choice.

How big is the group?

To preserve an intimate atmosphere and ensure dedicated personal attention from both instructors, each session is limited to a maximum of six participants.

What should I bring?

Everything needed for both the floral workshop and the dining experience is provided. All fresh stems, vessels, floristry tools, and lunch are included. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for spending time in the garden.

What language is the workshop conducted in?

The entire gathering is held in English.
